How to Create an Optimized Video Brief

Want a fast, awesome video? Give us a clear brief.

The better your brief, the better (and quicker!) your video turns out. Here’s a quick guide to help you craft a your video request:

1. What’s the goal?

Tell us what this video is trying to achieve. The more specific, the better.

Examples:

  • “Promote our product on Instagram”

  • “Explain how our service works”

  • “Introduce our brand to new customers”

2. Who’s the audience?

Who’s watching? Knowing your audience helps us speak their language and shape your message.

Examples:

  • “Amazon shoppers comparing options”

  • “New customers on our website”

  • “Job seekers learning about our culture”

3. What should it say?

We don’t write scripts, so you’ll need to give us the exact text you'd like in the video.

  • Voiceover script (if needed)

  • On-screen text or talking points

  • Calls to action like “Shop now” or “Learn more”

Bullet points are welcome, just make sure it’s clear what needs to be said.

4. What style do you want?

Tell us how you want the video to feel. Think about the tone, the look, and the overall vibe.

Examples you could share with us:

  • Fun and casual like a TikTok

  • Sleek and professional

  • Warm and emotional

If you have a sample video you like, that is even better. Send us a link. Real examples help us understand your idea faster and align perfectly with your vision.

5. Providing Your Assets

Assets are the heartbeat of your project; they provide the creative compass our editors need to bring your vision to life.

Why Specificity Matters

While it might seem easier to share a bulk folder, curating your selection is the secret to a faster turnaround. Sharing specific files instead of large, unorganized folders allows our editors to:

  • Work Efficiently: No time spent digging through outtakes.

  • Stay Focused: Your favorite takes become our top priority.

  • Hit the Mark: We get closer to your "Final Version" right from the first draft.

You know your content best! By pointing us to your preferred clips and images, you ensure the final result truly reflects your brand’s voice.

Technical Best Practices

To ensure your project looks crisp and professional, please keep these formatting guidelines in mind:

  • Quality over Quantity: Always provide high-quality source files. This ensures your video remains sharp throughout the editing and rendering process.

  • The "Sweet Spot" for Resolution: We recommend 1080p or 4K. While we love detail, please avoid 8K files, as these can slow down the workflow without providing a noticeable benefit for most platforms.

  • Common Formats: We primarily work with .MP4, .MOV, and .PRORES files.

6. Already have graphic assets ready?

Perfect. We can bring them to life and take them to the next level.

Helpful assets include:

  • Product renders

  • Social media graphics

  • Slides or illustrations

Clear guidance and well chosen assets give your project the best possible start and help us create exactly what you have in mind.

7. Any must-haves?

Let us know if there’s anything that absolutely needs to be included:

  • Logos, brand colors, and taglines

  • Key product features

  • Legal disclaimers or compliance text

Ready to brief like a boss?

Keeping these points in mind, you’ll be able to create stronger, more effective video briefs that clearly communicate your ideas to our creative team. This will make it easier to:
