To streamline the design workflow, we use distinct status tags that categorize each request as either active or inactive. Active status tags, such as "Design in Progress", "Ready for Review", or "Awaiting Response," indicate that a request is currently being worked on or requires action. Inactive status tags, including "In Queue" and "Paused," represent requests that are not presently active, helping organize and prioritize workflow efficiently.
Active status tags
Design requests labeled with an active status tag are ready to be scheduled, being worked on, or pending review. Active requests occupy an active request slot.
Design in Progress: Indicates that work on the request has started and is currently ongoing.
Scheduling: Used when an active slot becomes available and the request can be scheduled and worked on. This status acts as a transition point from queued to active work.
Being Revised: This status is used during iterative processes where revisions and edits are being worked on.
Ready for Review: Designs have been delivered and the request is now pending approval.
Awaiting Response: Used when an active request requires additional information or a decision from a customer to proceed. It remains active because it is expected to move quickly once the response is received.
Inactive status tags
Design requests labeled with an inactive status tag are requests that are not being actively worked on. These are requests that have been completed, added to the queue, or paused. Inactive requests do not occupy an active request slot.
Processing: Used when a new request is submitted and being scoped by a Design Leader. Once the request has been scoped, it will be set in progress if there is an available active slot or added to the queue to be worked on next.
In Queue: Used when a request is added to the queue by a Design Leader. The queue can be organized by placing high priority requests at the top of the list. Learn more about managing the design queue.
Paused: Used when a request needs to be paused to free an active slot for another request to be worked on. Requests can later be resumed to be worked on. Learn more about pausing and resuming requests.
Details Needed: Used when a recently submitted request requires additional information before it can be worked on.
Completed: Used when a request has been approved and marked complete. As soon as a request is completed an active slot is released.
FAQs
How can I update status tags?
Status tags are managed and updated by your design team to streamline the design workflow. However, you can update the status tag of a request with one of the following actions:
Pausing a request: will label the request as paused and release an active slot.
Resuming a request: label the request as processing for the design team to add to your design queue or set in motion if an active slot is available.
Completing a request: label the request as completed and release an active slot.
Reopening a request: label the request as in queue or processing, depending on active slot availability.
Using the feedback tool: label the request as revising for the design team to work on the edits you have requested.
How are requests grouped by status in the requests page?
Requests are grouped based on their status tag and if they are actively being worked on or not. All inactive requests that will be worked on next are grouped in the Queued tab. All active requests being worked on are grouped in the Active tab. Learn more about how requests are organized in the platform.
