Whether you're using Google Drive, Dropbox or other file sharing platforms - organizing files is a sure way of increasing productivity and efficiency of the design process. While it may take time to organize the assets you want to share with the team, keeping them organized will help speed up the processing time of the design request.

Here are some tips to help you organize files effectively:

  1. Create a Project Folder: Start by creating a dedicated folder and naming it after your project.

  2. Subfolders for Media Types: Within your project folder, create subfolders for each media type, such as "Images," "Videos," and "Audio."

  3. Naming Conventions: Create an easy-to-follow file naming system that includes details about the file's context for quick identification and sorting. For example, "UGC 1 - CTA.mp4"

  4. Perform Cleanups: If you'll use the same folders and files for multiple projects, regularly clean up outdated files. Remove files you don't want the design team to use anymore, especially if they have old info or style. You can either delete them or store them in your own computer for safekeeping.

If you have a design file from your team or previous projects outside NLC that you want us to edit (psd, ai, prproj, aep, etc.), please make sure to collect all the files that were used in the design. Doing so helps prevent delays during processing given that missing files can hinder request scoping. The following tutorials can come in handy when collecting files:

We recommend compressing project files to make it easier to share them online. Check out this simple step by step guide to learn more about file compression.
